Short description of the building/place:
During the summer of 2021, the volunteer artists of ROCHE LA MOLIERE (France) from the association SAFIR joined the RESCUE project coordinated by COMPAGNIE 3,42 from ST ETIENNE (France). The aim of the common project was to integrate young artists from the Saint-Etienne area, as well as young people with social and professional difficulties.
In the fall of 2022, students were studying and working on their Fresco artwork in the TAEPE class organised by the René Cassin high school in Rive de Gier. (Fresco is a mural painting technique that involves painting with water-based paint directly onto wet plaster so that the paint becomes an integral part of the plaster.)
On November 24, 2022, the students accompanied by Mr. Rabilloud, their teacher of Applied Arts, presented their concept of the artwork and visited the festival.
This “artistic tour” allowed the students to better understand the different issues around this type of contemporary art and to make the link with the artwork studied in class.
Next step: the realization of a fresco in the walls of the Lycée…

The opening event of the House of Artists ZONE 51 has been inaugurated by Mr. Eric Berlivet, mayor of Roche La Molière and his deputies together with Fernando DaVila, the founder of the SAFIR festival. The event attracted many artists and young people from the area.

Cultural Museum of Kalamitsi

Short description of the building/place:
The Museum of Folk Arts and Traditions in the village of Kalamitsi (in the region of Lefkas, Greece), which was created in 2020 with the local community within the framework of the RESCUE project (e-rescue.eu), continues to welcome tourist visitors from Greece and elsewhere, thanks to the local guides that we trained for this mission and who play an important role in the promotion of this local museum, for the good welcoming and by the attractive method followed by the local guides when accompanying the visitors.
In 2020, volunteers of Solidarity Tracks took part and helped substantially in the creation of the Folklore Museum of Kalamitsi. They worked with local volunteers with absolute willingness and desire to learn more about local history.

Knife museum in Poros

Short description of the building/place:
Within the framework of our RESCUE project, we are currently working with the village committee of Poros (Lefkada) to convert the old primary school of Poros into a museum of the traditional “Poursaniko knives”, for which this village is known.
We have already prepared the exterior of the school. We are currently preparing the 3D plan inside the desired space and researching the history of the knife crafts “Porsaniko” while the President of the village council is mobilizing citizens to collect old objects, especially traditional knives that characterize this village, to furnish the local folk museum.
RESCUEing old primary school of Poros

Short description of the building/place:
Due to the lack of a minimum number of students in the village of Poros, the primary school had to close and has stayed closed for years. Following the request of the village council to exploit this building for the benefit of the local community, a decision was taken by the Municipality of Lefkas and the Greek Ministry of Education to dispose the old school to the village cultural association.
In 2022, the village council requested cooperation of Solidarity Tracks to develop the old school and create a local folklore museum, space for the association’s activities, place for national and international volunteers, and an outdoor space for the organization of various cultural and artistic events. Up to now, the building has been furnished and decorated in a personalized way. Together with members of the local cultural association, members and volunteers of Solidarity Tracks are working on the design of the interior space and the venue for cultural events.

Event name: Light show in the old primary school of Poros

Event description: To promote the museum space being created in the old primary school of Poros, we organized a light mapping event, where young professionals from multiple different countries prepared and carried out a light show programme on the school’s exterior wall. The event was attended by 70 people.
